Contrast

When it comes to interior design, there are many different ways to create a dynamic space. One of the most popular design is contrast, combining two opposites that creates a balance within an interior space. This design concept is apply through the use of contrasting colors and materials. By using contrasting finishes, it creates a more exciting atmosphere with visual interest, which can have an emotional impact on how the space is used.

The contrasting concept is the use of combining different materials and colors, to create a fresh, interesting and unique designs.

Contrasting materials such as metal and wood, plastic and stone or glass and concrete can be very effective in interior spaces. This concept applies not only to the physical appearance of an interior space, but also how you feel about it when you are there. If you desire a warm and welcoming space, the key is to incorporate warm elements by using natural materials like stone or wood instead of cold ones like glass or aluminum. On the other hand if you want something more dynamic than static space, colorful accents such as shiny metal finishes will do the job.

Another way to apply contrasting is to use color. Color contrast can also create dynamic spaces by making components that will stand out more than others within their respective categories of color (e.g., greens against blues). For example, if you have an orange couch and red pillows, the room will be very vibrant and lively. However, if you were to use only one of these two colors, it would be more calming and relaxing in nature. The reason is because there wouldn't be enough contrast between them to appear as exciting as it would when using both colors together.

Black and white is an easy way to create contrast because it have the highest contrasting value of all colors, as they are opposites on the color wheel. It is effective because its used in almost any design. The most important thing here is not just how much contrast there is (black vs. white) but also how the contrast is presented within a space. Black and white are classic but still look modern or retro when paired with other colors. From traditional to contemporary, urban to country, a black and white design is a clean look that is minimal, sophisticated, and elegant look that demands attention.
